Elsewhere Traveler is aimed at the late 20s-early 30s female market looking to explore both new and familiar locations and see travel from a different perspective. The focus is on storytelling and engaging others to enjoy travel. Amanda King has traveled to over 30 countries and has lived in 3, and is always looking to share her wonder. Her travel style is to over-prepare while researching and turn to sitting in cafes and people watching, slow mornings and getting lost when she actually arrives. She once sat in a bookstore in Amsterdam and read for an afternoon; she’s also sung Justin Beiber’s ‘Baby’ at top volume barreling through the Mongolian countryside. Both are stories worth sharing. The mundane and the unexpected.
Elsewhere Traveler aims to share the experience of travel through intimate stories of the connections we make while traveling, rather than the ‘top 5 tips for x destination’. Regardless of how you look at it, we experience other places through the people, so that’s the story King tells.
While she’s traveled solo around the world, King has also traveled with groups on tour and as a family, so is able to speak to a wide variety of travel styles and personalities.
The opportunity to chase the interesting and work with companies who are ‘outside the usual’ is where partnerships work best.
